Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Care, Wound Care and Lifestyle Medicine with an MBA in Health Care Administration, served as Medical Director for Population Health at Accolade, held Medical Director roles at Cigna and Alegis Care, and worked as a teaching attending, patient safety officer, and Palliative Care Director at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania.

Background 

An active American Physicians Group board member with over 25 years of experience working with physicians and hospitals across the U.S., including private equity experience aggregating physicians through acquisition and other legal vehicles.

Background

Previous Chief of Staff to the President of the Client Organization at athenahealth, overseeing strategy and management during its post-IPO growth, a background in strategy consulting, focusing on health care mergers, acquisitions, and physician-hospital alignment. Holds an MBA in Strategy and Health Sector Management from Duke University and a BA in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University.

Most meaningful accomplishment

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to lead our leadership through mission and visioning exercises. It was invigorating, enlightening, and ultimately, a really powerful moment for our leadership team to get aligned and motivated for what was to come. I continue to be excited to live out that mission and see our future state come to life.

Background 

Held a variety of leadership roles across Cigna's Medicare Advantage business including Market President and Vice President in various capacities across Texas and Tennessee markets, served as an administrator for North American Medical Management, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in communications from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Most meaningful accomplishment

I have started numerous IPAs over the years. Starting them was a struggle to gain the trust of physicians who have been subject to many false schemes and investments. For me, the most satisfying moment is to witness when an IPA finally bonuses and have physicians tell me that they didn’t think it would work but now are full believers in the model.

Most meaningful accomplishment

The most meaningful thing I’ve helped accomplish is establishing two city-wide Independent Physician Associations, which were operational and profitable within their first year, in two different parts of the country.

Background

Joined CareAllies in 2002 as a Provider Rep with Renaissance after graduating from Texas A&M with a Bachelor's Degree in marketing and contributed to the launch of Texas HealthSpring (now Cigna Medicare Advantage) in Texas. Played a key role in the administration of Renaissance's LLCs and supported the development of Texas IPAs, LoneStar CIN, ACOs, and the Constitution Physician Alliance IPA in Philadelphia.

Most meaningful accomplishment

It is very rewarding to be there during the formation years when new IPAs and leaders are coming together and learning the business. Then, to come back for the first, fifth, or twentieth surplus distribution and see the engagement, excitement, and pride.

Background 

A board-certified family medicine expert and Army veteran with leadership roles at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and BCBS of Oklahoma. Has held pivotal positions in establishing Oklahoma's health information exchange and served as Chief of Emergency Medicine at Fort Leonard Wood.

Most meaningful accomplishment

I have been blessed and honored to work with the fantastic crew at CareAllies, and while there are many different “firsts,” I could highlight that the launch of the National Physician Advisory Council has been fun and impactful. This is a group of physician leaders across the country who come together and have a pivotal role and voice in how CareAllies supports them and their practice. These leaders are focused on changing health care and helping others shift to value-based care, all for the betterment of the patient. That’s what matters the most.

Held a variety of leadership roles across the CareAllies business, including Middle Tennessee and West Tennessee Provider Engagement Senior Administrator, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.

I’ve spent the majority of my professional career in health care and working for CareAllies over the last 8 years has provided me the opportunity to impact so many lives through the work we do with our physician partners every day.

Most meaningful accomplishment 

I feel my biggest accomplishment is helping those physician partners impact the health and wellness of their patients and their patient’s families.

Background 

A board-certified Endocrinologist, having spent 22 years in practice with a special interest in Type 1 diabetes management before transitioning to Cigna almost 10 years ago and to CareAllies 3 years ago.

Why CareAllies? 

As a servant leader, working as a regional medical executive with CareAllies allows me the opportunity to advocate for our primary care physicians every day. When I can make their job easier, they can spend more time with their patients, which is my 'why'.

Most meaningful accomplishment 

Working with CareAllies and the Medicare Advantage Stars program allows the patients access to beneficial preventive care. Every time breast cancer is caught early, colon cancer is prevented, or blood pressure is under control, it is a win for a patient. This makes my work with CareAllies meaningful every day!

Background 

A board-certified physician in Internal Medicine who practiced and led a hospitalist group in a major hospital in Houston for eight years and transitioned to Cigna in 2011 after completing her MBA at Rice University.

I love being part of CareAllies as it has helped me uncover my true potential and enabled me with the tools to do everything I can to serve our IPAs and PCPs: to support them and their staff to achieve the best health outcomes for their patients and realize the value in “value-based care”!

Over 20 years of health care experience, including being a leader in the Cigna Medicare Advantage provider engagement space and working with physicians in the Tennessee, Texas, and Alabama markets.

Most meaningful accomplishment 

One example would be the population health tool we launched in 2018 that created efficiencies for physicians, greater collaboration and coordination of care, and better tools to support value-based care clinical and quality initiatives. This is how we are changing health care for the better, and I am so glad to be a part of it.
