Throughout 2017, we heard time and again that the biggest value we bring to practices is in helping physicians stay ahead of the curve in the new world of value-based programs. That’s why we kicked off 2018 by introducing the CareAllies Valuable Insights virtual education series.

This series brings you ongoing, skilled advice from CareAllies subject matter experts and your physician peers to help you gain industry updates and simple, actionable information for achieving success in the current value-based health care environment.

We began the series in January with live webinars, allowing for maximum provider and speaker interaction. These webinars were well-received, and along the way, we gained some valuable insight from participants on how we could improve the series.

Upping the value

Based on feedback, we made significant enhancements to the Valuable Insights series in July:

• We moved to an on-demand format so you can watch pre-recorded webcasts when it's convenient for you.
• We started offering CME credits allowing you to earn AMA PRA Category 1 credits^TM after watching webcasts.
• We launched podcasts and alerts so you can learn quickly from your physician peers and stay abreast of breaking health care industry news.

Topics during the year were aimed at increasing provider understanding of how to engage with other providers and patients, how to navigate the nuances of the Medicare Quality Payment Program, how to improve care delivery processes, and how to optimize financial performance.

2018 series highlights:

In March, Dr. Nick Gettas, CareAllies contributor, gave valuable advice on controlling medical costs with smarter outpatient management practices.

In August, Erin DeLoreto, CareAllies assistant vice president of value-based programs, gave a timely update on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ proposed rule to update the Medicare Shared Savings Program.

In September, Dr. William Torkildsen from Port Isabel Health Clinic talked about improving medication adherence and offered these inspiring words during his podcast:

“I think that our patients need leadership, that’s why they chose us to be their PCPs. And I think it’s appropriate that we should be expected to take a leadership and an ownership position in a patient’s medication adherence.”

We rounded out the year with an important alert about the 2019 Quality Payment Program final rule, and an on-demand webcast full of best practices for maximizing the patient-doctor relationship.
